Update on our outreach efforts to potential advocacy partners.
State Legislators
Senator Jackson & Representative Josephson: Crystal, Amie, Ryan & Tara met with both offices on 11/12. They do not want to see Tudor closed, generally supportive, and are committed to writing a letter to the school board to ask pertinent questions about how Tudor was chosen with commentary on the decision. They are also cognizant of the fact that the impetus for rightsizing is a lack of increase in BSA funding, and would like to see Tudor PTA engage in state advocacy efforts to increase public education funding sooner than later. They also emphasized that this is a local issue, and we need to make sure we engage in targeting the school board and/or assembly to engage it locally. Liz - they mentioned your email, too :)
Assembly
Courtney volunteered to reach out to Meg Zalatel and Felix Rivera.
